When Your CNIC Needs Renewal
CNICs expire after 5 or 10 years depending on the issuance type. NADRA sends SMS reminders before expiry, but many people miss them. Renewal Troubleshooting
- "CNIC not eligible for online renewal." Your CNIC may be flagged (blocked for investigation, duplicate issue, or too long since last biometric update). Visit a NADRA center for resolution.
- Photo rejected. The portal is strict about photo specifications — blue background, specific dimensions, face centered. Use a professional photo or the Pak Identity app's photo capture feature.
- Payment confirmed but application stuck. Wait 24 hours for the payment to reconcile in NADRA's system. If still stuck, contact NADRA helpline (1777) with your payment receipt.
