Driving License Test Questions — Preparation Guide
Visit a DLIMS office with your CNIC and a police report (FIR) for lost/stolen licenses. DLIMS retrieves your record from the database and issues a duplicate smart card license in 7-15 days. Fee: approximately Rs. 500-1,000. No driving test required — your existing record is used.
Duplicate License for Lost or Damaged Cards
Losing your driving license doesn't mean retaking the test. DLIMS stores all license data digitally — your record exists permanently in the system regardless of the physical card's fate. A duplicate is simply a reprint of your existing data on a new smart card.
Steps to Get a Duplicate License
- File FIR at police station for lost/stolen license. For damaged licenses, bring the damaged card instead.
- Visit DLIMS office with CNIC, FIR copy (or damaged card), and photographs.
- Biometric verification confirms your identity against DLIMS records.
- Pay fee (Rs. 500-1,000).
- Duplicate issued in 7-15 days with the same categories and validity as the original.
License expired AND lost? The duplicate process handles both — you get a renewed duplicate. For standard renewal: DLIMS renewal guide. Check your existing record: DLIMS verification portal.
Damaged vs Lost — Process Differences
- Lost/stolen: FIR required. Police report protects you if someone misuses your lost license.
- Damaged: Bring the damaged card. No FIR needed. The damaged card is surrendered and replaced.
Report loss immediately. A lost driving license with your name, CNIC, and photo can be used for identity fraud. The FIR creates a legal record that protects you from liability for any misuse.
